Touring all over Europe in support of their latest release "Eidolon", New Brunswick's ECMA nominees and Music NB award winning doom duo ZAUM announce they will be trekking across their home country of Canada for the month of August with support from Pembroke, ON crusty metal punk two piece Flying Fortress featuring Brandon Wars (Goat Horn, Zuku) vocals/bass and Steelrider (Goat Horn, Cauldron) drums. The tour will be kicking off on August 3rd in Ottawa and head west for it to wrap up in the east on August 22nd in Sudbury, ON (dates listed below).

The band comments:

“It has been a couple of years since we’ve toured within our home country as we’ve primarily focused our efforts overseas since our formation in 2014.  Needless to say, we’re super stoked for this summer adventure across this giant beauty of a country in support of our newest record Eidolon. We were actually just fresh back from our showcase at Roadburn 2017 (with the likes of Baroness and Chelsea Wolfe) and thought, there’s really no better Canadian band and dudes to do a Canadian tour with than our old buds in Flying Fortress – and luckily the stars have aligned in our favour.”

About:

ZAUM’s second and latest full length musical chapter “Eidolon” was released October 24, 2016 via I HATE Records with distribution via Plastic Head/Sony Music throughout Europe and Century Media in North America to follow their 2014 debut album "Oracles". In their three years as an active touring band ZAUM have amassed 200+ shows (mainly international) under their belts including support stints for Voivod, Pentagram, and Cauldron.

ZAUM is a passage toward the dark realizations of the old world; a monolithic doomy mantra based meditative experience forged by bass and drums interwoven with sitar, woodwind, string and synth textures. Based in New Brunswick, Canada – observers experience a tranquil resonance whereby the astral and physical planes can co-exist and be understood from a natural perspective.

ZAUM is:
Kyle Alexander McDonald (bass/vocal/synth/textures)
Christopher Lewis (drums/percussion)

“ZAUM blends several moods into a really attractive, cohesive work that not only pays off, but also distances them from Om, creating for themselves a sphere of their own.”  -Sputnik Music

“a new level of headphone-ready, open-consciousness expanse.  Nothing matters. Give up your expectations. Quit your job and move to the forest.  Build a temple by a river and spend your days naming the gods who live in the trees around you.” -The Obelisk

“Their sound encompasses the enormity of the likes of Sleep and Om, yet works in a mysticism that’s haunting and ethereal. The 40 minute span of this release is a sitar driven daydream that carries the gravitational force of tectonic plates shifting.” -Iron Fist

“Hold onto your bong, ponder those scraps of eastern philosophy you’ve picked up watching Kung Fu films from the 1970s, and prepare to escape from Samsara.” -Ave Noctum

“Consists of dread and a haunting sensation to glimmers of hope, but mostly dreadful darkness.  ZAUM cast their own dark shadow, one I don’t mind being consumed by.” – Bucketlist Music Review (10/10)

“Few bands can touch the New Brunswick doom duo in terms of sheer hypnotic atmosphere. Eidolon sees them go further down their singular path into the heavy unknown. Prepare to be transported to a higher realm.” -The Sludgelord

“Simply put, ZAUM is an 11/10. To my fellow people: go home and lay down.”- Don L’Orange, -Weird Canada
